FOR STUDENTS

You did the hard part. You started.

Most people never get past the first session. You did, so this page is for you: what the next ten hours look like, what to do on the days you're not with me, and how to get the most out of every session you book.

The single biggest predictor of progress isn't talent. It's showing up once a week without gaps. Book the next one before you leave the current one.

A WEEK, MINIMUM
10SESSIONS TO COMPETENT

Your next ten sessions, roughly.

Every plan is personal, so this shifts depending on your goal. But this is the shape of it for most students.

SESSIONS 1 TO 3

Foundations that don't fall apart

Stance, footwork, guard, the four basic strikes, and breathing while you do them. Boring to describe, impossible to skip. Most of the bad habits people carry for years come from rushing this part.

SESSIONS 4 TO 7

Combinations, defence, and the clinch

Strikes start linking together. You learn to block, check and move, not just hit. Rounds on the pads get longer. This is where it starts feeling like a sport rather than an exercise class.

SESSIONS 8 TO 10

Pressure, timing, and your own style

Light, controlled work where I push back. You find out what holds up, and we build your game around what you're naturally good at. By session ten you look like you train, because you do.

AFTER THAT

Your call

Keep going towards fitness, competition, self-defence or MMA. Or take what you've got and run with it. Either way, you'll know the difference between a technique and a highlight reel.

HOW TO GET MORE OUT OF IT

Four things that speed everything up.

  • Book the next one before you leave. Two-week gaps are where what you learned gets lost. One message at the end and it's on the calendar.
  • Ten minutes at home. Shadowboxing in front of the mirror with what we covered. There's a page with the exact routine.
  • Send me a video. 30 seconds of shadowboxing on WhatsApp. I'll send back one thing to fix before the next session.
  • Ask between sessions. Any question about what we worked on, on WhatsApp, no charge. It's part of the work.
QUESTIONS

What students ask after the first session.

How many times a week should I train?

Once a week without fail is the minimum that works. Twice is where it gets fun. More than three, only if you have a competition goal.

How long does it take to learn Muay Thai?

Coordination in 3 or 4 sessions. Looking like you know what you're doing, around session ten. Being genuinely good, years, like anything. But every phase has its reward.

When do we start sparring?

When you ask and I can see the defence is there. Usually after session ten, and always controlled. Many students never do it and don't need to.

Is the 10-pack worth it?

If you're going to continue, yes: €270 instead of €300 and no expiry. But don't buy it on day one. Buy it when you know you want to keep going.

Same time next week?

Book the next one now, while you still remember what we worked on.
