START HERE · SELF-DEFENCE

Self-defence without the movie.

There's no secret technique that beats everyone. There's awareness, distance, decisions under stress, and the physical tools to back them up. And knowing when the smartest move is to leave. That's what I teach, and this is what you can genuinely expect.

If someone promises that in ten classes you'll handle anyone, run. What is true: people who train react better, panic less, and avoid more trouble.

HONESTLY

What Muay Thai gives you in a real situation. And what it doesn't.

Compared with training nothing and with a pure self-defence course.

THE THREE LAYERS

How I structure self-defence for adults.

1. Avoid

90% of self-defence is not being there. Reading your surroundings, spotting a situation heating up, leaving in time without feeling you've lost.

2. Distance and calm

A guard that doesn't look aggressive, moving so nobody can reach you, breathing when the body wants to lock up. This is where Muay Thai shines.

3. Physical response

If there's no other way: simple strikes that work when you're tired and scared. Knee, elbow, low kick, getting out of a grab. Nothing that needs gymnast flexibility.

And what I don't teach

Movie techniques, locks that only work if the other person cooperates, and the idea that winning a fight is a goal. The goal is getting home.

QUESTIONS

Questions about self-defence.

Does learning Muay Thai guarantee I can defend myself?

No. No sport guarantees the outcome of a real situation. What it does: you react better, keep distance, and have tools if there's no other way. And we add the avoidance and decision layer, which sport alone doesn't cover.

Muay Thai or a self-defence course?

Depends on what you want to learn. A pure course focuses on avoidance and a few techniques. With me you get that plus the real physical base of Muay Thai, which is what makes techniques work under stress.

Does it work for people over 50?

Yes, and I adapt the physical side. The avoidance and distance layer has no age. The physical response is built on simple strikes that don't need flexibility.

Does Muay Thai work in a street fight?

The tools do: distance, low kick, knees, clinch. But a street fight has no rules and no referee, which is why the goal I teach is not being in one. If you are, getting out as fast as possible.
